An exciting opportunity for ßÏßÏÊÓƵ, Institute of Development Studies (IDS), and Brighton and ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Medical School (BSMS) researchers to speak at an upcoming workshop, co-hosted with two ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Centres of Excellence: the ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) and the Centre for Innovation and Research in Childhood & Youth (CIRCY)
This community event, taking place on 24 April 2024 at the Friends Meeting House, invites academics from across campus to share their insights on what issues matter to the lives of children and young people in the context of sustainability and in the face of climate change. This event will include short presentations by five researchers and a display of wider university research, plus degree courses related to the issues of childhood, youth and/or sustainability. The five selected speakers will deliver 7-minute presentations with max. three slides, covering background/context, key idea(s), and a question or dilemma for participants to consider in relation to their own area of context or experience.
Interested ßÏßÏÊÓƵ, IDS and BSMS researchers are asked to submit their proposed presentation title and a summary of the points to be covered on each of the three slides. Researchers can indicate if they would like to share display materials related to their research (in addition to or instead of making a presentation).
University researchers, especially PGRs and ECRs, are encouraged to submit presentation proposals by EOP 16 February 2024 to SSRP Fellow and CIRCY Deputy Director Dr Perpetua Kirby.
All applications will be reviewed w/c 19 February 2024, and all applicants will be notified by end of February 2024 whether they have been selected to participate. Please share this opportunity with anyone you feel may be interested.
