This course is set at Level 6 in the national Framework for Higher Education Qualifications.

Course learning outcomes

Knowledge of and ability to apply the Mathematics and scientific concepts required by qualified graduates in the Computing for Digital Media field.

Take a holistic approach in solving problems and designing systems, applying professional judgements to balance risks, costs, benefits, safety, reliability, aesthetics and environmental impact.

Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and theories of Computing, Software Engineering and Digital Media, as likely to be required by a qualified scientist in the Computing for Digital Media field.

Design and develop software in one or more high level programming languages.

Knowledge of and ability to apply the essential facts, concepts, principles and theories needed for interactive digital media production.

Understand the role of digital media specialists in society and professional and ethical responsibilities of digital media specialists.

Analyse and solve problems related to their expertise in interactive digital media.

Specify, design and construct a digital media system.

Communicate effectively in writing, verbally and develop time managements and organisational skills.

Integrate and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Transfer techniques and solutions to related computing and Digital Media fields.
