Module Outline

The module addresses wider business and project management issues which affect the technological and engineering environment. Some of these issues include: the business environment; principles of strategic management; portfolio, programme and project management; quality and control; organisational structure; cultural issues; governance of project-based organisations and international projects.

Analyse the management process with a focus on the business environment in which a firm operates.

Apply tools and techniques to evaluate a firm’s competitiveness in the business and technological environment.

Evaluate the significance of quality, innovation processes and security risks within a firm for the successful delivery of projects, programmes and portfolios.

Explain how projects contribute to the overall business environment.
