Module Outline
This module aims to equip students with practical, analytical and life skills to make a positive difference
in the world. Through successful social, climate and reparative justice work, students will learn how to
design advocacy campaigns, work with grassroot communities and global organisations, present
evidence to inform policy change, produce reports and briefs to lobby and influence diverse audiences.
Interactive workshops will teach students how to think like a practitioner, consultant, and activist, adapt
creative ideas to different contexts, communicate effectively, exercise self- and collective care and
apply concrete tools for change to real life scenarios in development.
Module learning outcomes
Understand and analyse the complex ways in which development
organisations and grassroot movements enact positive change, policy and
practice.
Present relevant and impactful data and evidence to support advocacy
campaigns, policy proposals and legislative change.
Analyse and evaluate policy and practitioner documents, consultancy
reports, research briefs, policy briefs, media articles, parliamentary
evidence
Demonstrate and apply skills in effective problem-solving,
communications, advocacy and coalition-building for global justice
