Module Outline
This module explores the different ways in which geographers have sought to make sense of – and have challenged – many of the pressing issues that define being human in the modern world. Understanding that the world we share today is the result of cultural, economic, social and political processes past and present, we explore changing formations of these processes, examining the key concepts and approaches taken by geographers. In so doing, we reflect on and celebrate the important contributions of human geographers in helping to shape our future worlds.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of changing approaches to the study of human geography.
Identify, summarise and communicate effectively both individually and as part of a group the key concepts in the study of human geography.
Demonstrate understanding of the contribution of geographers to understanding cultural, economic, political and social change.
Demonstrate a knowledge of the underlying concepts and principles of human geography.
