Knowledge of the basic intellectual issues arising from the study of international history.

Familiarity with some of the principal historical events and processes connected with the emergence of modern world politics.

Awareness of some of the key debates among historians concerning particular events in modern international history.

The ability to develop an extended written argument which combines international historical and theoretical elements.
