ßÏßÏÊÓƵ and Tokyo Tech work together to provide a world-class student experience

The ßÏßÏÊÓƵ has agreed a partnership with a top Japanese university to internationalise professional services and explore co-operation on education and research.
The President of , Professor Yoshinao Mishima, visited ßÏßÏÊÓƵ this week, accompanied by the University's Executive Vice President and a delegation of professional staff.
The aim of the visit was to agree an administrator exchange to share best practice in the professional services. This will facilitate staff development, improve support for international scholars and help both universities provide an excellent student experience.
Tokyo Tech is Japan's top national institution for science and technology. With a history spanning more than 130 years, it has been ranked in the country's top three universities.
In 2014, it was named as a recipient of funding under Japan’s , set up to strengthen the international competitiveness of higher education in Japan. Commitments under the project include education reform and the promotion of international collaborative research.
"I am delighted to be embarking on this initiative with Tokyo Tech," said Professor Adam Tickell, ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Vice-Chancellor, during the visit.
"It has an excellent reputation as a top-tier world university and a global hub for scientific knowledge and talent.
"It is an institution dedicated to the development of a better world through science and technology, something that resonates strongly with our values here are Sussex."
The delegation also discussed prospects for new research links and student exchange. Both universities offer undergraduate research placements and Tokyo Tech delivers some of its in English.
East Asia is an increasingly popular region for ßÏßÏÊÓƵ students studying abroad and a top destination for the University’s Global Excellence Summer Programme.
