24hrs to envision a more sustainable future
Illustrator Daniel Locke and conservation biologist Chris Sandom have set themselves the task of envisioning a path to a sustainable future for the South East, and creating a comic to tell that story. And they've given themselves 24 hours to do it. Drop in to the Phoenix Arts Space on Sunday 9 June to see them at work, try to distract them, offer your ideas for the comic, and (if you like) create some visions of your own.
Our project takes inspiration from the , a long-standing international online event that challenges cartoonists and artists to create a short, illustrated book in a single 24 hour sitting. We will create a participatory version of the 24-hour comic, bringing together a team of creative practitioners led by the brilliant artist and illustrator with the ideas and perspectives of stakeholders and the public. Land managers, researchers, writers and artists, and communities will collaborate in imagining and sharing a hopeful and sustainable future. We want to invite you to share your expertise to help deliver this project.
