The Research Development Team role is to support the University’s aim of helping academics find funding as well as help them through the development process so that they can continue develop their high-quality research here at Sussex. We achieve this, through mutually beneficial relationship with University Senior Management, School Senior Management, School Professional Services teams, but most of all academics.
If you want to find out more about how the team and each School specific Research Development Manager can help you find not only UK and International research funding but also how the team and especially your Research Development Manager can help you understand the University and your School’s research strategy better, come to this workshop/event. We will help you understand where your research areas sits within the strategy and how you can best use this knowledge to get the best support for your research from your School and the University.
We will explain how we disseminate funding opportunities, and we are always interested in hearing from you what funding opportunities you are especially interested in or how we can improve our dissemination.
We will explain to you how we help you through the development process and what the most important areas both regarding the schemes you are applying to, the importance of peer review, but also the ßÏßÏÊÓƵ internal research processes to make sure you submit awardable applications.
We will also explain to you how we can help you through the different stages of proposals, help you respond to reviewer’s comments as well as help you prepare for interviews.
Moreover, once you had your research proposal accepted by a funder, we will explain how we help you with the award process and we will then also explain to you how our post-award team will help you throughout your project.
