I am trying to use the wired access connection, but I cannot get beyond the Registration pages.

If you can only get access to the registration site, and not to the web pages beyond it, then check that your proxy settings are all unchecked:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. From Tools select Internet Options
  3. Click on the Connections tab
  4. Click on LAN Settings
  5. Ensure all the tick boxes are clear (not ticked), then click OK
  6. Click  OK on the next dialogue box
  7. Restart your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer)

If these settings are correct, go into the Registration site and look at your Recent Events.

If you only have a User account added event then you need to get a fresh ResNet Leaflet from IT Services as there have been several updates, or check the ITS network connection web pages and ensure that your Authentication settings are correct. This is because your computer is currently not attempting to connect to the network.

If you are getting Authentication failed, please login to ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Direct and then logout - this re-synchronises your password on all subsystems. Please also ensure that your machine has the proper credentials (username and password) in the internet connection dialogue.

If you cannot see the internet connection dialogue then go into the authentication tab (see wired access leaflet for more details) and untick the Do not prompt user to authorize new servers or trusted certification authorities and ensure Enable Fast Reconnect is unticked.
