How can I merge one or more PDFs into a single file?

There are several ways to merge multiple PDFs into a single document.

moving file from Preview sidebars

On a Mac
You can combine several PDFs on a Mac using Preview. Open the PDFs you wish to merge together, making sure the sidebar shows thumbnails for each document, then drag the pages you want to combine from one sidebar to the next. To produce the final PDF, highlight the pages and choose File then Print Selected Pages.

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
You can merge PDf files using the full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (not Acrobat Reader). Choose File and then Create then Combine Files into a Single PDF. Drag and Drop to select the files you wish to combine and then Combine Files to merge them.
