How can I prevent Excel from converting email addresses and website addresses (URLs) in cells into hyperlinks?

Excel 2013 and Excel 2010:

1. Click on the File tab.
2. Click on the Options button at the bottom of the menu window.
3. Click on Proofing in the list on the left.
4. Click on the Autocorrect Options... button.
5. Click on the Autoformat As You Type tab.
6. Click to deselect (remove the tick from) the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks option.
7. Click OK back out through the menus.
