Some programs used at ßÏßÏÊÓƵ are RemoteApps. You can identify them by the icon in the start menu or the shortcut you use to open it.
When you open a RemoteApp, it appears in a window on your computer, but the program itself is running on a central server.
If you close the window using the X in the corner, it disappears from your screen but the program continues to run on the remote server. This can be a useful feature because the next time you open it, providing the server has been running continuously in the meantime, you can pick up from exactly where you left off.
