Is it possible to extract some information from a journal article that is available as a PDF and has been opened in Acrobat Reader?

Please note that the authors of some PDF documents deliberately use settings that prevent the copying of text for copyright reasons. However, when this is not the case, there is an option for extracting information from a PDF file.

  • Click on the appropriate button in the Acrobat Reader menu to select the text tool:
    T[ ] Text Selection Tool
  • Click at the start of the text;
  • Drag and release at the end;
  • Copy the text.
