ßÏßÏÊÓƵ ranked in world’s top 250
The ßÏßÏÊÓƵ has been named as one of the world’s top 250 universities by an influential, international ranking.
ßÏßÏÊÓƵ has been ranked 246th in the world by the , which, along with the Times Higher Education World Rankings, is recognised as being one of the most respected sources of data on universities around the globe. ßÏßÏÊÓƵ is currently ranked 146th in the world in the Times Higher Education ranking.
The QS ranking is based on six criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty to student ratio, ratio of international faculty members and ratio of international students.
One area of considerable improvement at ßÏßÏÊÓƵ was the number of academic citations achieved per faculty member, up to 141, an increase of 77 on last year.
Adam Tickell, Vice-Chancellor of the University, said:

Earlier this year, the ßÏßÏÊÓƵ was ranked the best in the world for development studies for the fourth year running, in the 2020 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The Complete University Guide was also published this week, which placed ßÏßÏÊÓƵ at 40th in the UK and in the top 10 for three subjects: American Studies (2nd), Anthropology (5th) and Drama (7th). The guide puts ßÏßÏÊÓƵ in the top quartile for 11 other subjects: Accounting and Finance; Biological Sciences; Business and Management; Communication and Media Studies; English; History; Marketing; Politics; Psychology; Social Work; and Sociology.
