Notice of Election of one staff member of Senate to Council to serve until 31 July 2024
This notice is to announce the election of one staff member of Senate to Council to serve until 31 July 2024. The election is caused by the end of the tenure of Mr Mark Fisher. Please note that the elected member of Council will cease to be a member if he/she ceases to be a member of Senate.
Eligibility
Statute IV and the Regulations set out the membership of Council. Provision is made for three members of Senate to be elected to Council by and from the members of Senate.
In accordance with the Regulations for membership of Council pursuant to the Statute, the following members of Senate are eligible to nominate, be nominated and vote in this election for the members of staff of Senate: elected or ex-officio members who are members of Senate at the time of their election to Council. At least two of the elected members shall be academic members.
N.B. the other current member of Senate elected to Council is Professor Sara Crangle and the ex-officio member of Senate elected to Council is Professor Steven McGuire.
The electorate will be the members of Senate as defined above as of 28 June 2021.
Election procedure
Nominators should check that their nominee is willing and eligible to serve. Self-nomination is permissible.
Each Nomination Form received will be acknowledged. The result of the election will be announced on the above page of the Division of the General Counsel, Governance and Compliance website.
