Improvements to Library and IT Services in response to survey

The Library and IT Services are set to make improvements in response to a recent survey, completed by over 1,200 ßÏßÏÊÓƵ students and staff during the Autumn term.

Following problems with file systems in Autumn 2016, many of the survey comments reiterated the need for stable IT platforms, and in response ITS are pursuing a major project in which the University file systems will be replaced with a more stable platform. IT Services are also soon to open up their new Service Centre in the Shawcross building, and are continuing to work with the Library to improve wi-fi coverage in the Library building.

As a result of the survey, the Library are also considering a number of suggestions that were made for improvements, including more computers, a wider range and more copies of books and journals, longer opening hours, and spaces for eating and drinking.
