Information for ßÏßÏÊÓƵ staff and students visiting other institutions with eduroam

You must check that your laptop or mobile device is set up and working with eduroam at ßÏßÏÊÓƵ before you try to use it anywhere else. If you have not already connected, follow the “green sheet” guide to registering on eduroam.

If you need help when you are away from ßÏßÏÊÓƵ, you will not be given support by the institution you are visiting, which is why you must get eduroam working before you go.

You should also check that the university or institution you are visiting is using eduroam.

For institutions in the UK:

  • Go to the

  • Check that the institution you are visiting has the word Visited

For institutions in the rest of the world:

  • Europe – start with the . Each country page then has details of the institutions which use eduroam.
  • Asia Pacific – from the , each region has a list of participating universities (for Australia, go through to the eduroam Wiki for "end users")

Make sure that you know your ßÏßÏÊÓƵ username and password, as you will need to enter this information to connect to an eduroam network at another institution.

Username@domain

Your username is your standard ßÏßÏÊÓƵ username. The eduroam domain for ßÏßÏÊÓƵ is sussex.ac.uk (so if your username is "user99", you would enter user99@sussex.ac.uk)

Password
Your standard ßÏßÏÊÓƵ password (as you would use to login to ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Direct)

Domain
(If present) must be left blank

Encryption settings

If you have trouble connecting to eduroam when visiting other institutions, you may need to change the encryption settings on your computer. For more information, see our technical information page.
