Support for visitors using eduroam

Support queries should be directed to your home institution but they may need to know the following technical information about the wireless network at Sussex.

  • The ßÏßÏÊÓƵ provides a JRS Tier 2 compliant service
  • Security methods available for eduroam access are WPA2-Enterprise with a AES cipher, or WPA-Enterprise with a TKIP cipher
  • All wireless access is via 802.11b/g (2.4ghz) and 802.11a (5ghz)
  • Public wired network ports are set to Auto-100 or Auto-1000 with auto MDI/MDIX and an 802.1X client limit of 1

Encryption settings

If you have trouble connecting to eduroam when visiting other institutions, you may need to change the encryption settings on your computer. For more information, see our technical information page.
