Cancer viruses
The long term aims of our research were to define the molecular mechanisms by which viruses contribute to the development of cancer. We investigated the molecular mechanisms by which the cancer-associated virus, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) replicates and how it disrupts normal cell processes. This research focused on the control of gene regulation and viral replication factors and was sponsored by the Medical Research Council, The Wellcome Trust and Leukemia and Lymphoma Research.
