Criminal Justice Law Clinic
Get free legal advice on justice law issues.
Our Law Clinics are a collaboration between final year law students, law academics and external solicitors and barristers. The clinics offer free legal advice to the public, charities, schools and organisations on a variety of legal issues.
With many people struggling to access legal aid, our ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Law Clinics offer valuable assistance to members of the community who are in need. Final year law students are supervised by academics in relevant fields and legal practitioners.
We run a number of different clinics, meaning we reach a wide and varied section of society.
The clinics only run during University teaching weeks. They take place on campus by appointment only – we don’t accept drop-ins.

The ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Law Clinics are not a law firm and are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. However, we aim to provide the same high standard of service expected in the practice of law. Ethical obligations, including the rules of confidentiality, apply to all work undertaken at our Law Clinics. All of our students and volunteers receive thorough training, guidance and supervision by solicitors, barristers and academics.
The Law Clinics are dependent on the services of student advisers from the Law School and therefore run only during University teaching weeks.
If you are a solicitor or barrister in practice and would like to volunteer as a legal advisor for any of the ßÏßÏÊÓƵ Law Clinics, get in touch at lawclinic@sussex.ac.uk.
