15 credits, Level 4
Spring teaching
This module builds on Ideas and Explorations and will introduce you to various aspects of contemporary media creation with a focus on how consideration of an audience should be built in from the beginning.
You will study the themes of need, media messages (intended and received), interdisciplinarity and transmedia.
A series of lectures from Media Production staff will present different methods and technologies for curating, presenting and showcasing your work as media makers, from screenings to installations to happenings to channels to
digital devices.
You will also participate in workshop and seminar discussions, exploring ideas from the lectures and undertake regular independent-study assignments to further your understanding of the topics. These will be recorded in a weekly log. You will also produce a short report.
