Abrar Redha Alrehaili
What is your PhD about?
My thesis concerns the role of international entities and instruments to control corruption in public procurement. Specifically, the role of the G20. Saudi Arabia was taken as a case study.
Why did you choose ßÏßÏÊÓƵ/CSC?
I chose the CSC based on the centre's reputation as the UK's first dedicated centre for corruption and what it includes from a group of specialised experts. It would be very beneficial for me to learn in such an environment.
What were you doing before you started your PhD?
I graduated from Brunel University in 2021, where I obtained a master's degree in law with first class honours. My thesis was about public procurement. I also work as a lecturer in my country.
Do you have any advice for someone considering a PhD?
I'm still at the beginning of the road, and beginnings are always harder and more stressful. So I advise everyone considering a PhD to be patient and work hard because good results do not appear all at once.
